My review of the Healthy Choice Complete: Fire Roasted Tomato Chicken frozen entrée.
Taste: The chicken, penne pasta and roasted tomato sauce tasted lovely. I used up every bit of the yummy sauce on the meat, pasta and vegetables. gravy and green beans tasted fine. However, the apple cranberry crisp was a disappointment. The apples had a strange falvor - almost too much cinnamon, and the oatmeal for the crisp was chewy, like it was undercooked. I followed the directions, and everything else cooked up fine, including the apples.
Quality: The chicken was a good quality, the penne pasta was surprisingly good for whole grain pasta, and the vegetables were bright and clean. The apple goo wasn't very appetizing, but the quality of the apple chunks looked fine.
Meets expectations/marketing: The meat, pasta and vegetable quantity matched the picture. The dessert looks nothing like the picture - a blob of brown gel with some gooey oatmeal mixed in and only two cranberries.
Filling: Yes, it was filling.
Value: $2.49 on sale at Wegman's.
Points: 6, but I suspect mostly because of the oatmeal in the dessert boosting the fiber quotient.
Overall: I won't buy it again. I can get other chicken meals for less points and not bother wasting points on a sad dessert. I'd rather have had more broccoli (and I can take or leave broccoli).
