Before & After - WookieMouse's Organizational Challenge

The original Organize Your Stuff Challenge blog:

To complete the final phase of the challenge - below are before and after shots of the various spaces of my house with scrap stuff. In my case, I moved from Dining Room (with overstock in the basement cupboards) to the Play Room and a new office area.

Click to enlarge a given photo for detail.

Before: Dining Room

Yes, a hot mess. And I wasn't even scrapping this particular day.

After: Dining Room

This was inspired by a Pottery Barn catalog photo. Love my caramel walls (Behr Slice) and floating shelves! I'm still counting this is a scrap space, since I organize, edit and print photos here, along with digi scrap and computer journal. It isn't usually quite this clutter-free, but it is much easier to maintain than it was before I divorced the home office from the scrap stash. This is the only area I spent money on for furniture and prettifying, since we look at this everyday from the dining room table.

Before: Basement Overstock Stash

Yep, this was only part of my stash - what didn't fit in the armoire when it was upstairs.

After: Basement Work Area and Stash

Everything old is new again - my work area is the 6 foot table that was my work space in our old apartment. I bought the IKEA chair off Craigslist for $10. The Rubbermaid cube system was on clearance at Office Max. I keep reconfigured slightly as I've sold some unused items and rethought what I need in arm's reach.

The shelving unit (formerly armoire) holds:
memorabilia and dangerous stuff
paper (left)
items still to be purged (left bottom)
cardmaking (right top)
idea books & Library of Memories (right)
die cutting (right middle)
memorabilia and alterable items (right bottom)

There is still a tiny bit of stuff left in the bottom basement cupboard - mostly my album and page protector overstock and some more items to purge. My goal is to continue to use it all up - I'd like to get rid of the shelves and fit all my paper stash in the blue tote on the floor and on the table. So I've got to get scrapping!

Way to go Bree! and I love putting a face with your name. :)

I do remember your painting from our start. Doesn't seem like it's possible that we started this 7 months ago.
