Back to the pregnancy album

Trying to put a few more finishing touches on the Pregnancy 2 album. Here is the title page, inspired by Lain's prompt to use squares.

Yeah, I'm way behind on LOAD and I'm okay with it. I can only do what my body can do, even though my mind races with scrapping inspiration during my 2 am bladder breaks.

Finally finished this two pager

I only had paper photos to work with on this layout - there were about 25 photos from the trip. Making the collage on the right took me forever - I think I'll stick with digital on layouts with more than 3 photos. BUt I was happy to use up some of my extensive Doodlebug papers here. The title idea came from a Simple Scrapbooks idea book - I think it was Elizabeth Dillow's or Elisha Snow's mini album, but I can't figure out what idea book it was in to check for sure.

LOAD catchup

I've been scrapping every day for the May LOAD, but scanning and uploading is another story. Maybe I'll stick to digi layouts once I get my page kits and unfinished pages done. I also had to make 4 Mother's Day and 3 birthday cards last night for this weekend, plus I still need to make an anniversary card and design some baby announcements for when #2 arrives - I guess I forgot May is a busy month around here!

This is a layout redo. It started out as a 12x12 back when I still scrapped that size. I took it apart two years ago, and it sat in the pile of Incomplete until this week. Finishing up these Manhattan 2000 layouts is giving me a huge sense of accomplishment, plus making me nostalgic and weepy. Gotta love pregnancy hormones!

Another redo from 12x12. I had to scan and downsize some of the larger museum handouts to make this work, but I like the finished layout.

This was my brainstorm on how to handle our itinerary/travel journal. Since we're both all anal and techie, we almost always have a written itinerary BEFORE a trip, and then a written in the moment journal from DURING the trip, and I've procrastinated scrapping them because I didn't have a neat solution. This is a 7.75x3, double-sided parchment paper journal, held together by a large brad. LOVE it, so I'm saving it as a Word template for future trip journals. Maybe now I"ll finally scrap our honeymoon journal.

NSD: I actually scrapped!

I think this is the first time in my 8 years of scrapping "career" that I have managed to actually scrapbook on NSD. So I just did it yesterday, until my back gave out. Two layouts that Amelia will love looking at: our recent trip to Splash Gagoon (Lagoon), which she talks about every day, plus last year's birthday. Since they were both picture heavy, I used digital templates to create photo collages, and then paper scrapped the collages.

QuicKutz NSD and other recent font matches

QuicKutz announced 4 new limited edition gifts sets, each of which includes a font and themed shapes. I've matched up the fonts, for those who want to match journaling or use with a digital electronic cutter.

For a link to all the QK fonts I've matched to date, click here, or check my side bar - Useful Links. To find a specific QK font, use Find, as I've labeled each font with their QK name.

Enjoy = Gator Regular

Flirt = Sweetheart Script

Relax = Beachbuoy Medium

Reuse = Oslo Light (not sure this will cut well with a digital cutter in small sizes - it's very thin)

I don't think I ever identified the recent monthly release fonts on my blog, just on 2Peas.

Rainbow = Billo (a freebie!)

Chick-a-Dee = Heart Breaker (a freebie!)

Sticky Notes = Astronaut Jones

LOAD May - Day 1

Well, I'm obviously a bit crazy, because I signed up for LOAD again. Did I mention I'm 36 weeks? :) I know I probably won't make it through the whole challenge, but I want to use this time to get some memories down on paper before newborn exhaustion wipes my brain even blanker than pregnancy brain has.

So here's my first layout, in response to today's prompt of Perfectly Imperfect. This layout is filled with random, but significant memorabilia from DH's and my first vacation together (in 2000!). So glad to have this page done, as this is the second last page I want to do from this trip for my Places album.

The random layering went quicker than I expected given that I'm a more linear scrapper, but the title took as long as the whole layout. Those tiny QK alpha letters took forever to glue down - and I just slapped them down, too!
